This Privacy Policy explains how Efficient Water Heaters, Inc. (“Efficient Water Heaters,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit our website, submit an estimate request, upload photos of your water heater, call or text us, or otherwise interact with our water heater service business.
Who we are
Efficient Water Heaters, Inc. is a licensed water heater service company based in San Jose, California. License: CSLB #1008381. You can reach us by email at [email protected] or by phone at (408) 470-0191.
Information we collect
When you contact us or request a phone estimate, we may collect:
- Contact details: name, phone number, and email address.
- Service location details: city, neighborhood, or service address you provide.
- Service request details: the water heater system you have, symptoms, age, model number, and the type of work you are requesting.
- Photos you upload: images of your water heater, data plate, venting, install location, leak area, or surrounding utility space. These photos can include incidental details about your home’s install location.
- Communications: messages, calls, voicemails, and texts you exchange with us.
- Website usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring page, and approximate location derived from your IP. This is collected automatically when you visit the site.
How we use information
- To respond to estimate requests and provide phone estimates.
- To schedule and perform water heater repair, installation, replacement, tankless service, heat-pump service, and maintenance.
- To follow up on completed work, warranty questions, and ongoing service.
- To communicate about appointments, technician arrival, and job status.
- To improve our website, forms, and customer experience.
- To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse of our contact forms.

Photos of your water heater
Photos you upload through our estimate form are reviewed by our team for the purpose of scoping the job. These photos can include incidental details about the install location, surrounding utility space, and other items visible in the frame. Please avoid sending photos that contain personally identifying information you do not want to share. We use uploaded photos only to scope and perform the work you requested.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only as needed to:
- Operate the business with service providers such as website hosting, contact form delivery, email, phone and texting, scheduling software, and basic website analytics.
- Pull permits, complete inspections, and comply with code requirements when required for your job.
- Respond to lawful requests by public authorities, including for legal or licensing purposes.
SMS / Text messaging consent
When you check an SMS consent box on one of our forms, you opt in to receive text messages from Efficient Water Heaters, Inc. at the phone number you provide. We collect two separate consents:
- Transactional SMS: appointment confirmations, technician arrival updates, estimate replies, and service follow-ups.
- Marketing SMS: seasonal maintenance reminders, rebate alerts, and special offers. This consent is always optional and is never required to receive service.
Message frequency varies based on your service activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help or STOP at any time to opt out. Opting out of marketing SMS will not affect transactional service messages, and opting out of transactional SMS will not affect your ability to schedule service by phone or email.
Mobile information and SMS consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share your mobile number only with our SMS delivery provider as strictly necessary to transmit the messages you have requested. This restriction also applies to any information collected through SMS opt-in, such as the consent record itself.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it.
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Cookies and tracking technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the website. These include:
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to load, route between pages, and submit forms.
- Analytics cookies: aggregate, non-identifying measurements of pages viewed, referring source, and approximate location derived from IP. We use this to understand which service pages are useful and where to improve.
- Form session storage: short-lived browser storage used to keep your estimate-form entries while you complete the form.
We do not use cross-context behavioral advertising cookies and we do not sell personal information. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent forms from working.
Data retention
We retain estimate requests, job records, photos, and communications for as long as needed to provide service, support warranties, respond to follow-up questions, and meet legal, tax, and licensing requirements. When that purpose ends, we either delete the information or retain only what is required by law.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information you share with us, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit on this website, access controls limiting who on our team can view estimate requests and customer records, and limited data retention. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to limit who can access estimate requests and customer records.
